Wells Solar, one of Central Texas’s larger residential solar companies, filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in February 2024 after completing more than 7,500 installations in the region. Chapter 7 is a liquidation: the company closed and there is no successor servicing its customers.
We didn’t install your system… but we’ll help you protect it.
What it means for your system
- Workmanship warranty: with the company liquidated, the labor and workmanship warranty is, as a practical matter, gone.
- Manufacturer warranties: the hardware warranties on your panels, inverters, and batteries come from the manufacturers, not from Wells, and they usually remain in force. Enphase microinverters, for example, carry a 25-year manufacturer warranty regardless of who installed them.
- The equipment itself is fine. A closed installer doesn’t break a working array. But small failures now have no one watching for them — and small failures left alone become big ones.
