Solar Panel Removal & Reinstall for Roof Replacement

Your roofer replaces the roof. We handle everything solar.

A new roof with solar on it is two trades, and the jobs go wrong when one pretends to be the other. We detach, protect, reinstall, and recommission solar systems around your roofer’s schedule — any brand, any original installer, under our Texas electrical contractor license.

Sound familiar?

New roof, solar in the way?

Hail took the roof, insurance approved the replacement — and nobody scoped the solar array on it.
Your roofer won’t touch the panels, and your original solar company is gone or won’t call back.
A roofing crew offered to “pop them off real quick.” Please don’t.
You’re worried the panels won’t work the same after they go back up.
The case

Why this is electrical work.

Detaching an array means opening energized DC circuits and protecting everything: panels, rail attachments, wiring, and the manufacturer warranties that survive only if handling follows spec. Reinstalling means new flashing at every mount, correct torque and sequencing, and recommissioning the system — then proving with production data that it works like it did before.

In Texas that’s licensed electrical territory, and it’s precisely the work our diagnostics-first solar practice is built on. Orphaned system? Same story — we don’t need your original installer to exist.

How it works

Off, roofed, back on, proven.

1
Document & detach
Pre-removal production baseline and photos; panels, rails, and wiring removed, labeled, and stored safely.
2
Your roofer roofs
We coordinate the schedule windows so the roof crew never waits on us — and never has to touch a wire.
3
Reinstall on the new roof
New flashing and sealing at every attachment, mounts torqued to spec, wiring restored and inspected.
4
Recommission & prove it
System re-energized, utility notices handled where required, and production verified against the pre-removal baseline. Ten-year workmanship warranty on our reinstall work.

Asked often

Removal & reinstall, answered.

Does insurance cover solar removal and reinstall?

Roof-replacement claims commonly include detach/reset line items for rooftop equipment. We provide the documentation your adjuster needs — scope, photos, and the production baseline.

How long is my system offline?

Typically the span of the roofing work plus our detach and reinstall windows on either side. We coordinate directly with your roofer to keep the gap as short as the roof allows.

Will my panels work the same afterward?

That’s what the pre/post production comparison is for — we don’t ask you to take it on faith.

My installer is out of business. Does that matter here?

Not to us — orphaned systems are a core service line. Equipment warranties generally survive; proper handling keeps them intact.

Can you fix hail damage to the system too?

Yes — damaged panels, wiring, and components are diagnosed and quoted alongside the reinstall, so the insurance conversation covers everything once.
