Enphase Repair in Austin & Central Texas

Panel-level diagnosis. IQ8 certified.

The Enphase app shows panels greyed out. The gateway stopped reporting weeks ago. Or production has quietly slipped and the electric bill finally said so. Enphase systems fail differently than string-inverter systems — panel by panel, often silently — and fixing them takes a contractor who works on them constantly. Aether Energy is a licensed Central Texas electrical contractor (TECL #35881) and an Enphase IQ8 certified installer; we diagnose and repair Enphase systems every week, including systems whose original installer no longer exists.

Sound familiar?

The Enphase problems we see most.

One or more microinverters not reporting — Enphase’s panel-level design means a single failed micro doesn’t take the system down, so failures hide in plain sight until several accumulate. We read the per-panel history and isolate which units are actually dead vs. just not communicating.
Gateway / Envoy offline — the most common “my solar is broken” call that isn’t a production failure at all: a router swap, Wi-Fi change, or failed gateway stops the reporting while the panels keep producing. We verify real output at the meter before anyone buys parts.
App shows no data after an internet change — usually a comms re-pair, not a repair.
Production down after a storm or grid event — Central Texas surge and grid-trip season is real; micros and the combiner deserve a proper inspection rather than a breaker-cycle guess.
Aging M-series and S-series systems — earlier-generation micros are past or nearing end of support. Sometimes the right answer is replacing failed units like-for-like; sometimes it’s a staged IQ8 retrofit. We quote both honestly.
Enphase battery issues — we’re IQ8 certified and service Enphase storage alongside the solar.
Straight answers

Repair or replace? An honest answer.

A dead microinverter under warranty is a claim, not a bill. A dead micro out of warranty on a 15-panel system is a modest, targeted repair. A fleet of failing first-generation micros is a different conversation — and the right answer might be a retrofit quoted against what the system actually earns you. That’s why we diagnose before we quote: the $249 diagnostic is credited in full toward whatever work you approve.

Orphaned systems

Your installer disappeared? You’re not stuck.

A large share of Austin-area Enphase systems came from installers that no longer exist. We take over orphaned Enphase systems routinely: system transfer in Enphase’s platform, proper documentation, and a phone number that answers. Start here: orphaned solar systems.

Asked often

Enphase repair, answered.

Why are some of my Enphase panels greyed out in the app?

Either those microinverters have stopped reporting (a communication issue) or stopped producing (a hardware issue). The per-panel history tells us which — that distinction is most of the diagnosis.

My Enphase gateway is offline. Is my solar still working?

Usually yes — production continues while reporting is down. But you can’t know without measuring at the meter, which is part of our diagnostic.

Are Enphase microinverters under warranty?

IQ-series micros carry a long limited warranty (commonly 25 years); earlier M/S-series vary. We check your serials during the diagnostic and handle the claim when one applies.

Do you service Enphase systems from installers that went out of business?

Yes — routinely, including the system transfer in Enphase’s platform. See our orphaned-system service.

How much does Enphase repair cost?

It depends on the fault — a comms fix, a single micro, and a retrofit are very different jobs. The $249 diagnostic produces a fixed-price quote and is credited 100% toward the repair.

Can you replace old M-series microinverters with IQ8?

Often yes, as a targeted swap or a staged retrofit — we’re IQ8 certified and quote both paths against your system’s actual production.

Enphase trouble? That’s a phone call.

One diagnostic tells you what’s wrong — and the $249 is credited 100% toward the repair.
